Ciao and Welcome to Farfallina Photography!
I'm Andrea and am the photographer behind Farfallina Photography. I currently reside in Santa Cruz, CA, but my business serves the San Francisco Bay Area as well as Santa Cruz. My specialties are Weddings, Portraiture, and Fine Art. I've always had an eye for detail and composition, which has helped me learn how to take beautiful photos. If I had to define my shooting style, I would say it's portrait journalism- which is a mixture of traditional, candid, and artistic shooting. I've captured most of my great shots though due to my creativity, spontineaity, and my trusty in-the-moment gut feelings. When I'm shooting, I just know exactly what I want.
Photography has been my passion since I was 13 years old, when I received my first 35mm Olympus camera for Christmas (love shooting film!). I haven't been able to stop shooting since. I continued to study my interest in college and majored in art and photography at UC Santa Cruz. Although two of the main focuses of Farfallina Photography are Weddings & Portraiture, Landscape and Night Photography are two of my favorite types of photography, and continue to be the center of my personal work.
More recently I've decided to pursue travel and food photography, which stems from my love of cooking, my Italian heritage, and genuine interest in the various and intriguing areas of the world. You can follow me in my new adventure by clicking on the galleries "Travel" and "Food" on my home page.
What I love about photography is capturing both the small and defining moments in life, to create physical keepsakes and snapshots of what you only see in real time for a few moments.
